Our Cattle Program

BIA Farms Artificially Inseminates (AI) 75% of the herd each winter, utilizing some of the best Simmental, SimAngus, and Angus Bulls in the country. In the 2015 breeding season, we utilized Werning Cattle stud bulls (WC Lockdown, WC Load Limit, Kappes Pendleton), CNS Dream On, SVF Allegiance, along with old powerhouse Simmental bulls Porterhouse Regent and Bold Future. BIA Farms currently has the best calves early on the ground from some of these top AI Sires. We choose our plan mating using traits from both the Sire and Dam, to increase full genetic potential, while keeping solid EPD packages, all of the many EPD traits are important with added value. BIA Farms plans to use for 2016 AI Stud Bulls, WC United 956Y, Bon View New Design 878, SAV Bismarck 5682, and BIA Herd Bull Atlas on cows, with GW Robust 605Z and SAV Bruiser 9164 on heifers.

BIA Farms initiated an embryo program in 2014, and currently have 2 successful donor females in production, with plans to flush a super nice Net Worth 4200 ET daughter in 2017. We currently have ET daughters out of Simmental legends WLE Power Stroke and Bold Future, Rains Black Boldstock 142F, and GLS Integrate Z3. We flushed a really nice young Sure Bet X Nichols G 151 daughter ASA # 2570918, to WC Bullseye, produced 28 #1 Grade eggs in the first flush. We are very excited about the eggs we placed in 2015 moving forward, and currently have ET calves on ground from this flush, and they are nice! We utilize 12 to 15 solid commercial and purebred cows each winter to set up for ET recipients. We plan to use 9 Remington Lock N Load X Invasion daughter ASA# 2441200 eggs this year, along with more of those really good Bullseyes!

BIA Farms is very excited on a recent cleanup bull purchase; a phenomenal 4-year-old, BWF SimAngus Herd Sire (ATLAS), ASA # 2695344. He looks the part (Length, depth, bone, frame, BWF), Atlas is tested homozygous black/polled, and free of genetic defects. Atlas calves have been tremendous, and he is as “gentle as a housecat.” Atlas has the top 1% WW, YW, and ADG EPD in the breed. Atlas calves have performed extremely well in performance bull tests both in Alabama and Florida, his calves really “get up and go.” I strongly encourage you to contact the reputation breeder of Atlas in Alabama, he will quickly advise you, of the Atlas calves and his performance values. This bull will produce progeny the commercial producer will love and should add tremendous value to their herds for many years to come.

BIA Farms has been an active supplier and supporter of local Bull test in Alabama and with the University of Florida. These are excellent opportunities to gauge your seed stock against other successful breeders, but to offer a performance based tested bull to the public for their selection of choice.
